Ballina Shire Council is located on the New South Wales Far North Coast, 770 kilometres north of Sydney and 190 kilometres south of Brisbane. The Shire, an area of 484 square kilometres, is set amongst a picturesque rural-coastal landscape and enjoys a temperate to mild subtropical climate.

The Shires resident population is approximately 45,000 with major service centre Ballina servicing the major townships of Alstonville, Lennox Head, Wollongbar, and Wardell. As well as a number of smaller villages and localities including Cumbalum, Teven, Tintenbar and Knockrow.

Ballina Shire Council acknowledges that we are here on the land of the Bundjalung people. The Bundjalung are the traditional owners of this land and are part of the oldest surviving continuous culture in the world.

Ballina Shire Council is seeking to engage a contractor to complete the replacement of the existing office facilities at the Alstonville Wastewater Treatment Plant with a new office building.

The new building will be located in the same position as the current building and connected to existing services.

Tenderers should note that there will be a non-compulsory pre-tender meeting held on site at 9am 22 September 2026. Please refer to clause 5.4 of the Conditions of Tendering for additional information.

Council would like to remind tenderers that there is a non-compulsory pre-tender meeting for this project on site at 8:30am, Tuesday 22 September 2026.

This will be the only time to review the existing conditions of the site/building to be demolished.

The site is gated and no additional meetings and/or inspections will be arranged.
