Four sewer pump stations (SPS) have a common rising main which runs along Highfields Road discharging into a gravity sewer manhole near Lauder Drive. Two of these SPSs are currently not able to meet peak wet weather flow requirements. A copy of HMSCSPR is included in the “Reference Documents” of the Principal’s Project Requirements (attached).

To overcome this pumping issue, the solution identified in the HMSCSPR was the installation of a new sewage pump station in the northern corner of Kuhls Road Park, off Clarke Road. The proposed pump station allows for decommissioning of existing sewer pump stations HIPS1, HIPS2 and HIPS4, followed by decommissioning of HIPS3 in 2031.
