Metro South Health is seeking a suitably qualified Principal Contractor to deliver the Princess Alexandra Hospital Prosthetics, Orthotics and Podiatry Services (POPS) Project under a Design and Construct contract. The project involves reviewing and completing the existing approximately 80% detailed design, upgrading and replacing critical workshop mechanical, electrical and associated building services infrastructure, construction of supporting plant and building works, commissioning, and handover within a live hospital environment. The upgrade will address deficiencies in existing dust extraction, fume extraction, ventilation, cooling and air balancing systems to provide a safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose clinical manufacturing environment that supports current and future operational requirements.

The successful Contractor will be responsible for reviewing, validating, coordinating and completing the existing detailed design documentation, delivering all construction and building services works, managing project interfaces and subcontractors, integrating required mechanical, electrical and hydraulic services, and undertaking testing, commissioning, defects management and handover activities. The Contractor will be required to ensure all works are delivered in a staged and coordinated manner within an operational hospital environment, maintaining continuity of departmental operations and complying with all infection control, workplace health and safety, access, operational and clinical requirements. All works must be completed in accordance with Queensland Health requirements, Metro South Health standards and specifications, applicable legislation, Australian Standards and project-specific obligations.
