Is air scouring necessary?

what is maximum incoming flow rate for backwashing?

Air scouring is not required as part of the routine or normal backwash operation, but the system should be designed so that air scour can be utilised under extreme operating conditions.

The maximum backwash flow rate is 16L/s at 100kPa with our current filter.

Unfortuantaly there is no additional documentation avaliable, a site inspection can be arranged at a suitible time.
