Byron Shire is a local government area located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. The shire is located adjacent to the Tasman Sea about 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of the Queensland border. The shire, administered from the town of Mullumbimby, covers an area of 566.7 square kilometres (218.8 sq mi), and has existed as a local government entity since 1906. The shire was named for Cape Byron, itself named by Captain Cook in May 1770 in honour of Vice-Admiral John Byron.

This is a repeat of the recently advertised Contract 2026-68 Design and Certify 3 x Bridges on Palmwoods Rd. Due to an administrative error, that procurement accidentally closed 1 day earlier than advertised. To ensure all interested parties have the opportunity to submit tenders, the Contract is now being re-advertised here.

Tenderers who had previously submitted under Contract #2026-68 and do not wish to change their submission, can re-submit their original schedules. Tenderers may change or improve their submission if they desire.

A new submission under THIS contract MUST be provided through Vendor Panel to be eligible for the tender.

All information remains unchanged and exactly the same. Regardless of whether you’d previously submitted or not, everyone is required to re-submit their tenders here by Close of Business, 5pm 29th of May 2026



This Design package covers the full design for replacement of three flood-damaged structures along Palmwoods Road, each of which sustained significant failure during the 2022 event. The works include the detailed design of new bridge and or causeway structures.

The existing culvert causeways were significantly damaged during the event 2022 natural disaster (flood) event. This contract will provide detailed design for new 5-6m long bridges to replace the existing causeways at each site.
