Council is seeking Tenders to develop a Register of Pre-Qualified Suppliers (RoPS) for Road Construction, Maintenance and Materials Supply.

Tenderers must have the appropriate experience, permits, licenses, qualifications and certificates where relevant for delivering the specific Requirement as specified below.

Croydon Shire is situated just east of the Gulf of Carpentaria in Far North Queensland, approximately 2,200 kilometres by road from Brisbane, the state capital. Spanning an area of 29,538 square kilometres, Croydon Shire is nearly half the size of Tasmania and offers a unique and stunning outback experience as part of the Gulf Region.

Croydon Shire Council are inviting all interested organisations or persons to participate in this Request for Tender (RFT) process for the above scope of services as advertised in Council website on the 19th of December 2025 in accordance with Tender process requirements outlined in Local Government Regulations 2012 (QLD).

Croydon Shire Council are inviting all interested organisations or persons particularly those based out of Croydon, Richmond, Etheridge & Carpentaria Shires to participate in this Request for Tender (RFT) process for the scope of services outlined.

Scope:

The register of pre-qualified suppliers is intended to cover all road construction and maintenance activities including, but not limited to the following:

• Sealed/Unsealed road construction and maintenance (e.g. pavement construction/reconstruction, stabilisation works, shoulders, sealing & asphalt, grading, gravel re-sheeting);

• Installation, cleaning and repair of cattle grids;

• General earthworks;

• Concrete works (e.g. footpaths, kerbs and channels, culverts, causeways);

• Gravel production (e.g. SSE, screening, crushing) and gravel supply;

• Line marking;

• Signage and guidepost installation and repairs.

• Drainage construction and maintenance (for example. table drains and culverts).

This Request to Tender is to enable completion of works within the Shire of Croydon as and when required including works that are classified as emergencies according to the Local Government Regulation 2012.

Please note that respondents are not required to undertake all of the listed activities and are encouraged to respond if they can service any one or more of these activities

Hi there council representative

Just regarding to the drainage maintenance works- Does this include slashing and mowing of the drainage infrastructure ? as in vegetation management and control.

Also is the council interested in roadside clearing with Mulching equipment. This is done with CTL's with drum Mulchers on the front of the machines. they are a specialty attachment for vegetation control and management.

Yes, please include slashing and mowing in your offer, along with cost for staging and de-establishment clearly identified if required.

This is a long- term arrangement and will be required during disaster recovery management.

I do not meet all the areas listed in your scope of works, e.g. road sealing. Have experience with drainage, grids, erosions, causeways, culverts to cover a few. Should I submit a tender?

Yes, submit what you can offer now to Council. This is a long-term register and other Trades will be required during the term covering construction and operational civil works, particularly addressing Disaster Management and emergency requirements..

Good morning,

We potentially can submit an offer for Category 3 - Supply of Materials. However, notice under 5. Hourly Rates 5.3. Category 3 - Supply of Materials, we are to include in our pricing installation and establishment costs.

Could Council please confirm if Category 3 is supply only, or is installation is required.

Yes, Please refer to clause 5.3 below Part B Specifications.

5.3. Category 3 – Supply of Materials

The tenderer shall complete Part D Return Schedule Attachment 1 Pricing Schedule by including hourly rates for all proposed categories of Material or Goods offered. Transport, installation, delivery and establishment costs maybe shown separately plus transport from base at $/km each way. Additional “Conditions of Engagement” may relate to transport costs within the Shire from site to site.
