The Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR Berghofer) is going to tender for the removal of General Waste and Recyclable Waste from the loading docks at their Central and Clive Berghofer Cancer Research Centre (CBCRC) buildings situated at 300 Herston Road, Brisbane QLD 4006.

Details
The relevant suppliers must be able to supply services for a wide range of rubbish removal requirements, including but not limited to the supply of relevant bins, outlined in the Invitation to Tender document, removal and disposal of general waste in a cost-effective manner and must have capability to manage a wide range of recyclable materials. The supplier must be able to demonstrate experience in this field with the same or similar types and sized customers, with evidence of being a valued advisor in identifying opportunities to both reduce waste to landfill and reduce cost.

Hi Todd,

Thank you for your enquiry please see my responses below.

Is the waste related to a construction project/renovation project? Yes we renovate and have to change layouts periodically, waste will include but no be limited to building and demolition materials, floor coverings and office furniture, there will be a number of different materials included in the waste, ideally where possible we would like recyclable materials to be recycled.

What bins and how many bins do you believe you will require? We get the 12M3 Skip bins and have estimated we will go through approximately 6 per year.

How often will the bins need to be serviced (emptied)? We order the bins on an as required basis so we don't have them permanently on site, generally they will remain on site for a period of around 2-6 weeks.

What is the duration of the contract? Term is 3 years with 2 x 12 renewal at QIMR's discretion.
