The Department of Primary Industries is seeking seafood suppliers who can supply and deliver frozen Whole Sea Mullet and Shark Meat (Bait) in accordance with the attached Request for Quote and Contract Document.

To achieve and meet the changeable requirements Suppliers need to be competent, experienced, and reliable for the supply and delivery of the frozen baits (65,000kg of Sea Mullet and 32,000kg of Shark Meat). Multiple contracts may be granted and approved for the scope of services from this Request for Quote process. The term of the contract is for an initial 2 years (24 months) with one 12-month extension option totalling 3 years. Sub-contracting will not be accepted (bait delivery to site excluded).

Details
The Shark Control Program services ten contract areas along the Queensland Coastline - Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Capricorn Coast, Tannum Sands, Bundaberg, Rainbow Beach, Sunshine Coast, North Stradbroke Island and the Gold Coast. Covering 10 coastal regions, and at present 86 locations of Queensland’s most popular beaches, using both baited drum lines and nets. There are at present 383 drum lines positioned off the coast of Queensland which require bait (Sea Mullet or Shark meat). The sourcing of Shark Bait is critical to ensuring continued operations, meeting the Shark Management Plan deliverables.
