Question

Q1 -The AMEP agreement is currently on a term by term basis will this continue to be the case?
Q2 -Will the documentation from TAFE continue be in the format of two documents. A booking request form and the confirmation of enrolment from AMEP Childcare?
Q3 - Will current families participating in the program roll over to the new agreement when it begin in 2026?

:
A1 - Yes, bookings for the children of AMEP students will continue to be arranged on a term-by-term basis. AMEP delivery is aligned with the Queensland state school calendar. During school holidays, TAFE Queensland may offer flexible AMEP learning options, Childcare may be required during these holiday periods but at a reduced volume.
A2 - While no changes are currently anticipated to the booking process documentation used with existing providers, this may be subject to revision if updated AMEP contractual obligations are introduced by the Department of Home Affairs. Child care providers should also note that reporting documentation will be required, including the provision of accurate attendance records for each AMEP client's child. These records must be submitted to TAFE Queensland on a monthly basis in an electronic format, such as Microsoft Excel, as specified.
For further information, please refer to sections 2 and 4 of the document ‘Specification TQC0013711 Childcare Services for AMEP (Adult Migrant English Program).’
A3 - Yes, as long as current families continue to participate in the AMEP.
A4 - Yes. Guidelines and a sample template will be shared with child care providers appointed to the register.
A5 - The mechanism to terminate the provision of AMEP childcare services will be outlined in the terms and conditions of the agreement once finalised.

Question
:
Q1 - If the grant enables an AMEP student's child to attend a session and the child also attends another session not eligible for funding can an enrolment fee be charged?
Q2 - The current AMEP agreement has a capped amount for child care services. Will the new agreement retain this cap or will it be lifted?
Answered on 27/Aug/2025 10:40 AM
:
A1 - Outside of AMEP funded child care and AMEP class hours, families are free to make independent arrangements with their chosen child care provider, including sessions not covered by the funding.
A2 - The Invitation to Offer (ITO) does not prescribe a fixed cap on child care fees. However, TAFE Queensland is required to source suitable, culturally appropriate and cost efficient child care services that achieve value for money. Child care providers are invited to
submit their standard child care fee structures - including any variations by age group or location - and to detail included services and any additional charges. Fee proposals should align with the requirements outlined in Section 4 of the of the document ‘Specification TQC0013711 Childcare Services for AMEP (Adult Migrant English Program).’ TAFE Queensland will evaluate proposals based on cost-efficiency and alignment with reasonable market rates, ensuring services meet the quality standards outlined in the AMEP Childcare Services Specification. For further information on the Evaluation criteria, please refer to Section 1.5 of the Invitation to Offer (ITO) TQC0013711 Childcare Services for AMEP.
