Question
:
1. Plant Rooms - please confirm that the exit fittings in all plant rooms are new installations of the more expensive weatherpoof exit fittings, instead of replacing the existing Quickfit exit lights with like-for-like fittings.
2. External Eaves - please advise if emergency only weatherproof surface mount Spitfires are to be cabled and installed, or if readily available and less expensive vandal proof circular bulkheads (Part# PCWFRLEDS) can be used to replace the existing security/emergency fluorescent, fulfilling both roles. This has already been done in some areas, negating the need to run new cabling. Note that all fluorescent tubes are being phased out by December 2027, so this option will proactively replace a the external fluorescent lighting.
3. Accommodation Blocks Entrance - please advise if weatherproof surface mount Spitfires are to be cabled and installed, or if the existing 4 foot battens can be replaced with less expensive Nexus weaterhproof battens (Part# WPB4FTRF).
4. Staff Bathrooms - please confirm that a new Spitfire is to be cabled and installed, instead of replacing the existing weatherproof battens (already in place in most bathrooms), with readily available Nexus weatherproof battens (Part# WPB4FTRF).
5. Buildings 105, 109, 125 & 126 - please identify which fittings need to be tamper proof and IK10, as they are all shown as standard fittings.
6. Accommodation Building Separation Rooms - please confirm that surface mount Spitfires are to be mounted on these ceilings and the roof slab is to be core drilled to install cabling, noting that these are high risk/secure rooms due to the risk of YP self harm, etc., and all of the existing services and fittings are recessed into the solid concrete floor and ceiling.
7. Accommodation Ferneries, Client Services, Bulk Stores - where there is no ceiling space, please advise if the centre will organise to remove roof sheets and barriers on the roof to enable cable to be run to feed the Spitfires if required.
8. Nexus Router - shown on the plan to be installed in the Admin Building Main Comms Room, but please advise if it can be installed in the ‘Service Technicians Workspace’ that is set up in the Bulk Stores and is where the existing Nexus and air-conditioning head ends are installed. This will be more ideal, as there is no work area in the Main Comms Room.
