Details
Metro South Hospital and Health Service (MSH) is a major provider of public health services, health education and research across Brisbane’s southside, Logan, Redlands, and Scenic Rim regions. MSH serves over 1.3 million people, representing approximately 24% of Queensland’s population, across a catchment of approximately 3,856 square kilometres.

MSH employs more than 22,000 staff and operates with an annual budget exceeding $4.2 billion. MSH comprises five major hospitals being Princess Alexandra Hospital, QEII Jubilee Hospital, Logan Hospital, Redland Hospital, and Beaudesert Hospital, supported by a growing network of community health centres.

Asset and Infrastructure Division (A&I) facilitate the delivery, management, and strategic forward planning of assets and infrastructure across MSH facilities. These services include a broad portfolio of essential work that enables staff to provide healthcare services to our communities including:

• Real estate and land management and acquisition

• Building refurbishment, expansions, and upgrades

• Major building assets and mechanical equipment management and servicing

• Strategic forward planning to meet healthcare demands and more.

This Procurement relates specifically to Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH). PAH is a tertiary health care centre, providing care in all major adult specialties, apart from obstetrics. PAH is one of Australia’s leading academic and research health centres. PAH provides acute medical, surgical, mental health, cancer, rehabilitation, and allied health services. PAH is nationally recognised for the expertise in trauma management, and major transplantation centre for livers, kidneys, bone, cartilage, and corneas. PAH also does state-wide services including:

• Queensland Adult Liver Transplant Service

• Queensland Kidney Transplant Service

• Queensland Tissue Bank

• Donatelife

• Queensland Spinal Cord Injury Service

The PAH Endoscopy Department provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services. As clinical procedures continue to evolve, the department is undertaking increasingly complex interventional procedures requiring additional clinical space, specialised equipment and multidisciplinary clinical support.

A review of the existing Endoscopy Department identified that current procedure rooms have spatial and Infrastructure constraints that limit the safe and efficient delivery of complex endoscopic procedures. Existing room configurations present challenges associated with equipment positioning, staff movement, workflow efficiency and the accommodation of supporting clinical equipment required for procedures such as Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
