The Southern Downs Regional Council was formed on the 15th of March 2008 as an outcome of the Queensland Local Government Reform process. This new governing body encompasses the areas previously occupied by the Warwick and Stanthorpe Shire Councils.

Council operates a total of seven (7) unsupervised waste management facilities across Southern Downs split into two (2) areas: Northern and Southern.

The Contractor is required to undertake routine and reactive maintenance services to ensure these facilities are maintained in a neat, safe, and tidy condition and in accordance with Council’s standards and directions.
