The Barcaldine Region is located in central west Queensland approximately 440km west of Rockhampton, covering an area of 53,677 sq km with an estimated population of 3,503 people.

The Regional Council is made up of the former Shires of Aramac, Barcaldine and Jericho including the towns of Alpha, Aramac, Barcaldine, Jericho and Muttaburra.

The Region is one of the largest cattle producing regions in Central Western Queensland and also has a productive sheep, wool and macropod harvesting industry with the prospect of mining.

Barcaldine Regional Council (BRC) is implementing renewable energy generation and energy

efficiency measures to reduce council’s carbon emissions and reduce electricity costs across

council-owned sites. This request for tender (RFT) seeks an end-to-end service provider to

design, supply, install, commission and hand over solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, and where

applicable battery energy storage systems (BESS), across nominated BRC facilities.

Supply and install PV modules, mounting systems, inverters, isolators, protection devices,

cabling, conduits, labelling, signage and all associated system components.

? Supply and install any required switchboard upgrades, sub-boards, protection upgrades,

CT metering, export control hardware, and communications hardware required for

compliant operation.

? Where BESS is included, supply and install battery units, enclosures, battery management

system integration and all civil and electrical works required for a complete, operational

system.

? Supply and install a concrete pad where necessary at each location that requires a battery

unit for it to be installed onto.

? Coordinate and complete all required outages/shutdowns, isolations, and testing in

consultation with BRC Project Manager.

? Maintain safe access and protect the public, staff and assets during the works. Such as

providing temporary fencing/barricades where needed.

? Supply and install permanent roof anchor points at each site to ensure safe future

maintenance

Develop concept and detailed designs for each site, including PV array layout, inverter

arrangement, cable routes, isolators, switchboard integration and earthing.

? Where BESS is included, develop the BESS design including location, enclosure

requirements, ventilation/thermal management, fire safety and isolation.

? Provide structural engineering certification confirming roof capacity and fixing method for

PV mounting. Include any strengthening works where required.

? Provide a design risk assessment and incorporate WHS considerations for installation and

ongoing maintenance access.

? Submit design packages to BRC Project Manager for review and approval prior to

procurement and installation.
