What the buyer is requesting
Details
GCWA’s 5.95m aluminium work boat the QG ‘Tally’ is reaching the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.

GCWA needs to replace the Tally with a small, trailerable work boat to deliver operational functions in rivers, creeks and canals.

GCWA require design and construction of vessel =6.5m length, =2.5m beam, towable by Toyota Landcruiser (3.5t) including:

• centre console with 3 seats for master and crew

• flat work area at bow (potentailly with drop-down door)

• single outboard engine (capable of moving/pushing/towing under load)

• max speed 30+kts / service speed 20+kts

• foldable bimini canopy for sun protection

• small removable crane/davit at bow

A Queensland registered trailer to tow on public roads must also be provided.

Good morning,

We had drafted a response from Blue Sea Boats to your RFQ. Today we made the decision to withdraw it. As I haven't had to do this before, I wanted to confirm in writing that this is what we intended to do as I don't want to waste your time looking at a proposal that is non-conforming.

We withdrew as our proposal relates to a brand new flat bottomed river punt which we have already built, but which only needs superstructure additions to meet the requirements. I was going to submit this as a non-conforming tender. Unfortunately we are unable to submit the required conforming tender with it, as we have sufficient supply and are not currently building more.

I am sure you will find a current builder to meet the RFQ requirements. Thank you for the opportunity to take part in this process.

Thanks for getting inn touch to let us know what was happening.

Sorry that we cannot consider your alternate design but unfortunately, the requirement for alternatives to be accompanied by a conforming design is one the Qld Govt standard conditions of tendering.

I hope we can give you another opportunity to work together in the future.
