Details
An aging population, workforce shortages and technological advancements have created an increased demand for healthcare services. Effective patient flow is one key strategy to meet growing demand. Patient flow refers to the movement of patients through care settings including the emergency department, acute wards, sub-acute care and community services. Efficient and effective patient flow enables the movement of patients seamlessly through the system. It is essential for timely, high-quality care.
Digital enablement plays a critical role in addressing identified risks and issues associated with patient flow through Metro North clinical services, care settings and facilities. There is an opportunity to strategically build and deliver a digital health platform supporting all facilities and services, which meets flow information needs across Metro North.
