The Regional networks commuter and rail tourism markets are serviced by the Travel and Tourism products. These comprise eight services connecting Regional communities across Queensland with other Regional centres and the South East Queensland corner. These services support the Queensland tourism industry through the provision of unique rail tourism experiences including special events and charters through the operation of a small fleet of heritage services.

Our Regional networks and Freight team provides rail access for freight operators and other Queensland Rail supply chain customers to enable the critical transport of resources and general freight across the state.

Queensland Rail will release a Market Sounding to identify capable and experienced contractors for the Mount Isa Line – Phosphate Hill Culvert Renewal Project.

This process aims to:

• Identify suitably qualified contractors for the project.

• Obtain industry insights on project feasibility and cost-effectiveness.

• Explore alternative solutions available in the market.

• Gauge market interest and competitive pricing.

• Assess contractor availability and resource capability.
