Question:
Watermain and Sewer rising main are specified to be lowered, have these designs been completed? and if not, who is responsible for this process and the associated authority approvals? There is no area within the pricing schedule to allow for this.

Answered on 23/Jan/2026 01:44 PM:

The design for lowering the water and sewer rising mains falls under the scope of our design consultant. They are currently in the process of engaging with EGW and completing the necessary designs. The finalised design will be provided before the contract award date.

At this stage, we expect the tenderers to include the construction cost for lowering the water and sewer rising mains in their proposals, along with the necessary liaison and approvals from relevant authorities.

Question:
Good Morning.

Can we please have some clarity on the below items. these items are an unknown for the contractor.

- 8.1 Modify and lower existing Telecommunications Conduit as required to avoid proposed drainage infrastructure at 2 locations. - this item will need to be organised by EGSC.

- 8.2 Modify and lower existing Gas Pipe as required to avoid proposed drainage infrastructure. - Gas is being phased out this year in Lakes Entrance.

- 8.3 Modify and lower existing Water Pipe required to avoid proposed drainage infrastructure. - this item would required a detailed design by an approved design consultant, to then be approved by East Gippsland Water. this item can not be priced without an approved design.

- 9.2 Modify and lower existing Riser Main as required to avoid proposed drainage infrastructure between Pit#6 & 7 - this item would required a detailed design by an approved design consultant, to then be approved by East Gippsland Water. this item can not be priced without an approved design.

- 9.2 Construct Protection Slabs over the existing Rising Main at the crossing point between Pit #6 & 7 - this requires a protection slab detail, approved by East Gippsland Water.
