What the buyer is requesting
Details
The objective of the drone service is to provide a safe, efficient, and high-quality aerial capability to support operational, safety, environmental, and asset management activities across the Port of Townsville precinct. The service is intended to enhance situational awareness, improve the timeliness and accuracy of data collection, reduce reliance on manual or high-risk inspection methods, and support informed decision-making. Drone operations are expected to be conducted in compliance with all applicable CASA aviation, maritime, safety, security, and privacy requirements while minimising disruption to Port of Townsville operations.
Background information / Compatibility requirements
Details
The Port of Townsville operates within a complex, high-risk environment characterised by critical infrastructure, vessel movements, heavy machinery, and constrained access areas. Traditional inspection and monitoring methods can be resource intensive, pose safety risks, and may not provide the level of coverage or frequency required for effective port management. Drones now provide a reliable means of capturing high-resolution imagery and data over land and water, enabling more proactive maintenance, enhanced monitoring, and improved incident response. As a result, the Port of Townsville seeks to engage a qualified service provider to deliver professional drone services aligned with its operational and regulatory context.
