Details
The Town of Port Hedland is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Contractor to replace the playground and softfall equipment at Marapikurrinya Park in Port Hedland.

The current play equipment and softfall at Marapikurrinya Park was installed in 2017 and has reached the end of its useful asset life.

Given the playground’s close proximity to the ocean and as the site has been well utilised, corrosion and deterioration is evident on the equipment and surfaces.

The existing playground and softfall footprint is approximately 250m2.

Question:
Request to Consider Extension of Mandatory Site Meeting and Tender Closing Date

Given that the tender has only recently been released, the scheduled mandatory site meeting is approaching very quickly. This has provided limited time for prospective tenderers to thoroughly review the tender documentation and make an informed decision regarding participation.

In addition, the short notice presents challenges in arranging travel, particularly given the cost and logistical implications associated with booking flights and attending the site meeting at short notice.

With this in mind, would the Town consider postponing the mandatory site meeting by a few days and extending the tender closing date accordingly? This would provide prospective tenderers with a more reasonable opportunity to review the documentation, assess the project's requirements, and make the necessary arrangements to attend the site meeting.

We believe this would encourage broader participation and allow tenderers to submit more considered and competitive responses.
