The Queensland Police Service (QPS) Aviation Capability Group (QGAir) requires a qualified mowing and ground maintenance contractor to deliver comprehensive lawn and garden maintenance at Archerfield Base (Hangar 1/411 & 412 Wirraway Avenue). The works shall ensure all outdoor areas remain safe, presentable and compliant with QPS environmental and occupational health & safety standards.

Regular Service Requirements

The Grounds must be kept clean, neat and tidy and serviced every fortnight and regular servicing will include.

• Lawn Mowing:

Lawns to be cut to a Standard 50 mm height, with no scalping.

• Edging & Whipper-Snipping:

All borders, around static assets, fences and concrete paths.

• Garden Bed Maintenance:

Pruning of trees, tidying and removal of deadwood and leaves.

• Debris Removal & Blowing:

All grass clippings, dirt and debris swept-up / blown off all paths and carparks within 2 hours post-mowing.

• Weed Control:

Targeted spot spray as needed.

Compliance: Must use APVMA–registered products.

Additional Service Requirements

• Any additional services to be undertaken will need to be quoted and invoiced separately.

Technical Requirements

• Personnel must be experienced in grounds maintenance and capable of identifying and reporting any issues.

• Contractor must supply all necessary equipment and materials.

• All equipment must be maintained in safe, operational condition to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Any use of herbicides or chemicals must comply with local environmental and safety regulations.

Mandatory Requirements

• Contractor must hold relevant insurances (public liability, workers' compensation).

• Compliance with applicable Australian Standards for safety and horticultural work.

Ability to provide services according to the specified seasonal schedule.

• An ASIC card is not required however contractors will be required to work aside and must remain within the leased perimeters when airside.

The Ground Maintenance service is an ongoing requirement every fortnight. And QGAIR are looking to put in a long term arrangement with the successful offerer for a period of 2 years with the possibility of a 1 year extension.
