Market Notification – Intention to release Invitation to Offer (ITO) – Mackay and Rockhampton Emergency Helicopter Services (VP510612).

Queensland Health wishes to advise interested suppliers of an intention to release an ITO to the market for a single supplier to provide emergency helicopter services from Mackay and Rockhampton. The objectives of the intended procurement include achieving value for Queensland and taxpayers’ money and ensuring fair and open competition via an open tender procurement approach. The ITO will be a genuine opportunity to bid for the services and interest from all suitability qualified and experienced suppliers is welcomed and encouraged.

The services sought encompass aeromedical patient transport including pre-hospital retrieval, inter-facility transfer, search and rescue, law enforcement and/or support to other government agencies as required.

The anticipated timing for release of the ITO is likely to be during Quarter 4 of the 2026 calendar year. A supplier briefing may be held to provide suppliers with information regarding the ITO requirements and to allow suppliers to raise questions.

The ITO will be coordinated by Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ), the body within the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) responsible for the clinical and logistic coordination and contract management of all statewide aeromedical tasking. The ITO and any updates will be published on VendorPanel under reference VP510612.
