Background Information
QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute is one of Australia's leading medical research organisations, conducting translational research across areas including cancer, infectious diseases, mental health, population health, and chronic disorders.
As part of its research activities, QIMR Berghofer operates Physical Containment Level 3 (PC3) laboratory facilities that require reliable sterilisation and decontamination equipment to support daily operations and maintain compliance with applicable biosafety requirements.
The Institute currently requires two (2) new laboratory autoclaves to support the sterilisation of laboratory equipment, instruments, consumables, media, and the treatment of biological waste generated through research activities. The autoclaves will be installed within the PC3 laboratory environment located on Level 14 of the Central Building at QIMR Berghofer's Herston campus.
The Institute is seeking a modern, reliable, and energy-efficient solution that will provide safe and effective sterilisation capabilities, minimise operational downtime, and support future laboratory requirements. The proposed equipment should be suitable for intensive laboratory use and capable of operating within a highly regulated research environment.
Suppliers should note that the installation location is an operational research facility with controlled access requirements. It is expected that respondents consider all aspects of delivery, logistics, site access, installation methodology, commissioning, validation, and ongoing maintenance support when preparing their submissions.
QIMR Berghofer seeks a turnkey solution that includes supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, user training, warranty support, and ongoing service capabilities to ensure the equipment remains fully operational throughout its lifecycle.

Question
:
While reviewing the tender documentation, it was noted that the mandatory supplier briefing session is scheduled to be held at 300 Herston Road, Herston QLD 4006 on Tuesday, 28 July 2026. As attendance at this briefing is a mandatory requirement for submitting a tender, I would like to enquire whether an online attendance option is available. If so, when and will there be a link sent?

:
Hi Chris
The onsite visit is a mandatory requirement, we believe this is necessary to enable suppliers to gain a full understanding of the site and any potential challenges that maybe presented.
Kind regards
Paul Bensley
