The Murray River Council is a local government area located in the New South Wales Riverina region. It provides a range of important services for close to 12,000 residents across a land and service area spanning approximately 11,000 kilometers.

Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced engineering services consultants to undertake the planning, investigation, assessment and design services required to progress Council’s wastewater infrastructure projects at Murray Downs, Moama and Barham.

The services will generally comprise:

Murray Downs WWTP Upgrade – undertake an objective assessment of feasible long-term wastewater servicing options, including upgrade of the existing Murray Downs WWTP and transfer of wastewater to the Swan Hill WWTP, identify and recommend the preferred servicing solution, and progress the preferred solution through concept design, detailed design, statutory approvals and preparation of construction-ready tender documentation.

Moama WWTP Treatment Upgrades Stage 1 – develop Council’s approved Concept Design into a complete, coordinated and construction-ready Detailed Design, including the required civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control works, together with statutory approvals, cost estimates and tender documentation required to facilitate procurement and construction.

Barham WWTP Upgrade – undertake a concept-level review and assessment of feasible long term wastewater servicing options, including technical development of the options, capital and operating cost estimates, assessment of risks and approvals, financial and multi-criteria analysis, and recommendation of a preferred servicing option and the next steps required to progress that solution.

The Consultant will be responsible for coordinating all engineering, environmental, planning and specialist inputs necessary to deliver the respective project requirements and provide Council with robust, practical, maintainable and cost-effective solutions that address operational requirements, environmental compliance, future growth and whole-of-life value.
