The Charters Towers Region is a local government area in North Queensland, Australia southwest of, and inland from the city of Townsville, based in Charters Towers. Established in 2008, it was preceded by two previous local government areas which dated back to the 1870s.

Charters Towers Regional Council invites tenders from suitably qualified respondents to complete the works required for the Weir Tower Access Walkway Replacement Project.

This project, Weir Tower Access Walkway Replacement, includes the replacement of the existing elevated walkway to access the Weir Tower during flood inundation events. The project will include the removal and demolition of the existing structural steel walkway including the platform and handrails. The existing steel trestles will be maintained and remediated (abrasive blasted and painted).
