Question:
Can Council please confirm what existing background information will be made available to the successful consultant (e.g. previous environmental or cultural studies, cemetery plans, burial records, condition assessments, traffic or access investigations, and community feedback), and what information Council expects to be prepared as part of this project?

Answered on 23/Jan/2026 09:10 AM:

Good morning,

Thank you for your query.

Council can confirm that the following background information will be made available to the successful consultant:

• Basic cemetery mapping and burial records currently held by Council.

• Access to Chronicle, Council’s cemetery mapping and records management system. Chronicle provides a detailed digital layout of the cemetery, including plot boundaries, plot status (available, reserved, occupied, etc.), and associated burial records.

At this stage, Council is not aware of any previous environmental studies, cultural assessments, condition assessments, or traffic/access investigations relating to the cemetery, other than preliminary internal discussions regarding a potential future entrance from Rinkin Street.

As part of the Master Plan development, Council expects the successful consultant to undertake any required investigations, assessments, and community consultation necessary to inform the Master Plan.

Kind regards
