Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from potential service providers with the capability to upgrade and manage the current QUT Car Parking system or assist in managing the existing state car parking systems.
Background information / Compatibility requirements
Details
QUT's parking facilities serve as key access points for students, staff, and visitors. With 15 car parks and 2,842 bays across Gardens Point (GP) and Kelvin Grove (KG), usage varies by location, including high permit holder demand at GP SZC and KG Q Block, while GP P Block and under Freeway cater primarily to students and visitors.
Parking is a revenue stream, for the University. A modern, integrated parking management solution will enhance capacity, optimise turnover, and improve operational efficiency. Without modernisation, QUT faces increased maintenance costs, limited automation and integration with QUT systems, declining user satisfaction, and regulatory non-compliance risks.
Currently, the Integrated Parking System team under Campus Services manages permits and daily operations. The Parking Optimisation Project aims to address these challenges by implementing a next-generation solution that enhances operational effectiveness, increases revenue, provides automation and integration in QUT systems and improves the user experience.
Through this EOI, QUT seeks industry expertise to inform the design of a fit-for-purpose solution that aligns with strategic goals

Please can you confirm the closing date for the RFI submission - in the QUTCS001_Expression_of_Interest_QUT_Parking doc it states both the 28th March at 3pm AEST and 2pm 31 March 2025. Please can you confirm which is correct.

Hello, Our solution needs to integrate with others in order to satisfy the scope of this request. Is there a preference to receive a response made by multiple parties or would you prefer a response where our areas of proficiency are listed and integration points are highlighted?

QUT ideally prefer responses from vendors that can provide a comprehensive, end-to-end parking solution, either fully managed by QUT or through a designated third-party under a mutually agreed operational model.
If an end-to-end solution is not possible, we require clear details on:
• The specific components of the parking solution being proposed.
• The vendors and systems your solution has successfully integrated with.
• The integration pathways, APIs, and technical considerations that enable interoperability.
• References from previous integrations, including client organizations, project scope, and feedback on performance and user experience.
Providing this level of detail will allow us to assess compliance with the scope and ensure alignment with the key objectives of the EOI.
