Our 7,500 strong workforce delivers services across our South East Queensland and Regional networks, including Travel and Tourism services and Regional Freight.

Our South East Queensland team provides 8,392 services each week, supporting our customers to reach their destination safely and on-time. In 2019-2020, 44 million passenger trips were taken on the South East Queensland network (a decrease of approximately 20 per cent compared to 2018-2019, associated with COVID-19).

The Regional networks commuter and rail tourism markets are serviced by the Travel and Tourism products. These comprise eight services connecting Regional communities across Queensland with other Regional centres and the South East Queensland corner. These services support the Queensland tourism industry through the provision of unique rail tourism experiences including special events and charters through the operation of a small fleet of heritage services.

Our Regional networks and Freight team provides rail access for freight operators and other Queensland Rail supply chain customers to enable the critical transport of resources and general freight across the state.

A future tender will seek to engage a Principal Contractor to deliver the West Moreton Bridge Renewal Stage 2 Project under a Design & Construct (D&C) delivery model. The project involves the replacement of four existing timber rail bridges at two locations on the Rosewood to Toowoomba section of the West Moreton System, at chainages 56.600 km and 59.230 km.

The works will broadly include the design and construction of new concrete ballast deck bridges, demolition of the existing structures, associated track, formation, drainage and access works, and testing, certification and handover. The works will be delivered within a live operational rail environment and will require construction planning and staging to accommodate rail possession and access constraints.
