What the buyer is requesting
Details
Swan Hill Rural City Council (Council) invites suitably qualified and experienced contractors to submit a tender for construction of the Nyah Pavilion Cricket and Active Zone.

The Nyah and District Cricket Club’s ageing practice nets are at end-of-life, and the community lacks both free outdoor fitness equipment and an undercover venue for sport or events. Transforming the structurally sound, long-vacant WJ Rose Pavilion into an indoor cricket training facility - with capacity for markets, sports, and gatherings -alongside the installation of fixed outdoor fitness equipment, will meet urgent sporting needs, activate an underutilised asset and create a year-round-use-hub for community sports and fitness.

To ensure that the new sport facility meets all requirements relating to the building code, this project will be delivered as a package of works including a new all-access parking space, accessible pathway and accessible toilet in the neighboring community centre.

Project goals:

• Replace the Nyah & District Cricket Club’s worn-out practice nets with a year-round, all-weather indoor facility in the WJ Rose Pavilion

• Activate the pavilion as a multi-use hub for sport, markets, and community events

• Install free outdoor fitness equipment to expand recreational opportunities in Nyah and Nyah West

• Maximise use of an underutilised asset and respond to priorities in the Nyah Riverfront Masterplan

• Ensure that the new facility is accessible for all

Comprehensive details of the complete scope of works are provided in the Specifications at Part B of the tender documents.
