The Town of Port Hedland has successfully secured Black Spot Program funding to deliver upgrades to the Demarchi Road–Murdoch Drive and Buttweld Road–North Circular Road intersections. To comply with funding requirements, the works have been divided into two separable portions. Detailed design audits were undertaken during the design phase for both projects, with all audit findings satisfactorily addressed.

The Town is now seeking suitably qualified contractors to undertake the intersection upgrades while meeting the prescribed grant funding milestones. In accordance with grant conditions, a pre opening Road Safety Audit will be undertaken post construction by a consultant engaged by the Town of Port Hedland to confirm that the works comply with the approved design and Contract.
