Details
The Department of Education invites organisations to apply to lease and operate an Early Childhood (EC) service at a department-owned facility co-located at 5 Moore Street, Ravenshoe.

The successful applicant will be required to operate an approved EC service catering for children from birth to school entry age, based on the identified needs of the local community. The applicant must be an existing Approved Provider, eligible to apply for a service approval to operate under the Education and Care Services Act 2013 (ECS Act) or Education and Care Services National Law (Queensland) Act 2011.

Eligible organisations may apply to access limited hours care funding to support the viability of this service. This funding is confirmed until 30 June 2027. Further information is available in the invitation to Apply – Information Paper.

Background information / Compatibility requirements
Details
The facility is operating limited hours care under the ECS Act. The facility has one (1) room, currently catering for up to 21 children from birth to school entry age in a mixed age group. Amenities include an office, kitchen, child and adult bathrooms, indoor and outdoor storage, sleep room and leafy outdoor learning environment.

The facility is assessed as being in good condition and designed to comply with the requirements for a centre-based service under the ECS Act.

The successful Applicant will be required to:

• commence operating the service in Term 3 2026, including meeting the requirements for, and obtaining a Service Approval under the ECS Act or National Law;

• deliver a service that caters for children, from birth to school entry age;

• recruit and retain a qualified Early Childhood Teacher to oversee a quality early childhood program; and

• demonstrate relevant knowledge and functional networks to support the engagement of families, as part of a supportive education network responding to local
community needs.

a. Queensland Government’s Supplier Code of Conduct; and
b. Department of Education’s Supplier Code of Conduct

- Are an existing EC Approved Provider, under the ECS Act or the National Law at the date the invitation opens; and
a. have a current Service Approval under the ECS Act or National Law; and
b. have experience delivering a quality early childhood program.
