Business Info
The Central Highlands region is in Central Queensland, Australia. The region encompasses an area of around 60 000 square kilometres, making it just short of the size of Tasmania.

It is home to around 30 000 people who live in the thirteen unique communities of Arcadia Valley, Bauhinia, Blackwater, Bluff, Capella, Comet, Dingo, Duaringa, Emerald, Rolleston, Sapphire Gemfields, Springsure and Tieri.

Our region is rich in minerals and agriculture, thriving on irrigation sourced from water storage on the Nogoa and Comet rivers. We claim the largest sapphire-producing fields in the Southern Hemisphere.

Major freight routes through the region include the north-south link between Charters Towers and northern New South Wales—identified as the inland transport alternative between Cairns and Melbourne.

General

1. Principal supplied quote for ACO drain was issued on 24 November 2025 and is only valid for 30 days, could council please confirm the validity of this price for our estimate as this price guarantee has expired – the quote is just a reference of the principally supplied materials already required. The contractor should not be allowing for the purchase of these items as they are to be supplied by CHRC from the Emerald Depot at Batts Street.

2. Can council please confirm there are no MRTS annexures associated with this project. - Confirmed

Question:
Can council please confirm the following in regard to scope items:

1) whereabouts within the project the scope item 30001 "Removal or demolition of existing underground stormwater network" is located. Noting SW01-2 & SW01-3 pits are to be modified but this stormwater design does not include 32m of stormwater removal

2) Is removal and relocation of streetlamps to be included within the estimate? It is noted on the drawings to be removed and relocated, but lighting design is to be undertaken by others. There is no schedule item in the schedule. If it is to be included where would council want these streetlamps to be relocated to?
