The successful Contractor will be one of a panel of Contractors to provide, on request, general provision of plumbing services across the East Gippsland Shire.

The Contractor shall supply all staff, labour, materials and plant required under for the provision of plumbing services unless otherwise specifically stated in this Specification, the Formal Instrument of Agreement or Conditions of Contract.

This Specification shall be read in conjunction with all documents forming the Contract including the Formal Instrument of Agreement and Conditions of Contract.

The works of this Contract relate primarily to plumbing inspections, maintenance and repairs on Council buildings / structures as listed, either internally or externally, in accordance with the direction of the Superintendent or their representative and all relevant / applicable Acts, regulations, codes of practice, standards and guidelines. In addition to plumbing inspections, maintenance and repairs, the Contractor(s) may be requested to undertake project work up to the value of $15,000 GST exclusive (subject to quote, and in accordance with Council’s Procurement Policy).

The Contractor is required to provide, at no additional cost to Council, all non-specialised equipment (including small hand tools, jack hammers, plumbing super tools, etc.), to facilitate the necessary plumbing inspections, maintenance and repairs associated with Council’s buildings /structures. Any specialised equipment (including earth moving equipment, work platforms, scaffolding, location devices / cameras, thermal detection equipment etc) that the Contractor will likely require to undertake the scope of this Contract, must be specified in the schedule of rates accordingly.

The Contractor may also be required to engage appropriately qualified subcontractors for any specialised works, subject to the approval of the Superintendent. Where subcontractors are utilised for specific specialised works, the Contractor will be responsible for the direct supervision of the subcontractors.
