The Department of Education (DoE) is calling for tender submissions for the design refurbish/reconstruct and certify the Outdoor Learning Area (OLA) Preparatory Playground adjacent Prep Building #3 and Block C at Oakleigh State School (SS) located at Buxton St, Ashgrove QLD 4060, as part of the Regional Minor Works (MINOR WORKS) program.

The scope of works is generally, to remove existing outdoor learning playground and associated low level landscaping currently at end of life; replace with new artificial turf, new retaining walls, new rubber softfall, new playground structures and equipment, (for Preparatory Students), working in with existing shade structures (tree & fixed shade structures), overland flow, stormwater, design, certification and lead times applicable.

The position of the site is within the centre of the School Campus with limited amount of site access opportunities. Works are to commence on-site on 10 August 2025 due to known playground equipment lead times, with a focus of noisy and disruptive works to occur; during a negotiated period. Access is restricted and an access plan as part of the Tenderer’s methodology & programme will be reviewed to address this requirement and the on-going works. All works are to be completed by end of Term 3 Holidays 2025 (06 October 2025).

Tender submissions will be accepted from contractors that meet the following requirements:

• Appropriate QBCC Builders licences to undertake the entire scope of works

• Professional Indemnity Insurance to the value of $1M

QBCC Licensing and Professional Indemnity Insurance

It is anticipated that a minimum of a QBCC (Structural Landscaping and/or a Low Rise) builders’ licence will be required for this project. Contractors are required to hold Professional Indemnity Insurance in accordance with the contract.
