The 21 suburbs of Banyule City lie on 63 square kilometres between 7 and 21 kilometres north-east of central Melbourne. These suburbs are: Bellfield, Briar Hill, Bundoora, Eaglemont, Eltham, Eltham North, Greensborough, Heidelberg, Heidelberg Heights, Heidelberg West, Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East, Lower Plenty, Macleod, Montmorency, Rosanna, St Helena, Viewbank, Watsonia, Watsonia North and Yallambie. The Yarra River runs along the City’s south border while the west is defined by Darebin Creek.

Banyule’s landscape is gently to steeply undulating, apart from some relatively flat land in the west and on the river floodplains. Native vegetation flourishes in the east and north-east, while exotic trees and shrubs dominate the City’s southern and western parts.

Banyule is renowned for its open spaces and plentiful parklands, especially along the Yarra and Plenty River valleys. There are 466 hectares of council-owned open space in Banyule, as well as substantial areas of parkland managed by Parks Victoria. These provide a wealth of recreational, environmental and tourism opportunities for the region. There are sites of botanical, zoological, habitat and heritage significance, including aboriginal archaeological sites and scar trees, and points of interest associated with the Heidelberg School of Artists.

Council is seeking quotes to establish a reliable and experienced Contractor for the supply and installation of play equipment as part of at the playground renewal of Mercedes Court Reserve, West Mayling Reserve, Sylvan Reserve, Dunvegan Parklands and Warrawee Park Playgrounds within FY 26/27. Locations as follows:

• Mercedes Court Reserve Playground, Located at 2 Mercedes Court, Rosanna, 3084, VIC

• West Mayling Reserve Playground, Located at 4a Mayling Court, Watsonia, 3087, VIC

• Sylvan Reserve Playgrounds, Located at 51 Coventry Street, Montmorency, 3094, VIC

• Dunvegan Parklands, Located at 70-76 Dunvegan Crescent, Macleod, 3085, VIC

• Warrawee Park, Located at 10 The Rameo, Bundoora, 3083, VIC

Playground surfacing is not included in this RFT, it will be installed by landscape contractor. Playmatta will not be used on these projects.

Would it be at all possible to extend the cut off date by at least two weeks?

The industry currently has many quote and tenders requests.

Material preferences are outlined in the draft concepts – general play unit designs. There is a preference for steel post play units with timber batten facades.

Regarding Mercedes Court, RFT Scope items include: 1.1 - Play unit, 1.2 - Swingset, 1.3 - Inclusive Spinner.

And in key elemtents highlighted 1.4 is a climbing structure (not in the RFT scope table) Are we quoting on this item?

Item 1.4 from Mercedes Court Reserve should be included in the RFT scope, apologies for the error. The available space is approx. 6 x 9m, noting the curved shape around mature trees. The item is included in the schedule of quantities.
