RFI – Treatment of Existing Pavement Materials (MRTS07B)



We refer to MRTS07B Clause 8.6.1 and Annexure MRTS07B.1 Clause 4, noting that no additional materials are nominated for removal in the Annexure.



Clause 8.6.1 identifies asphalt patches exceeding 50 mm total thickness as unsuitable for stabilisation, and by implication asphalt = 50 mm thickness is suitable for stabilisation.



To ensure alignment with the Principal’s intent prior to commencement of stabilisation works, please confirm:



1. Whether existing asphalt layers of 50 mm or less thickness are to remain in place and be pulverised and stabilised in accordance with MRTS07B; and

2. Whether the specified stabilisation depth is intended to be measured from the existing pavement surface.
