Details
The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P) invites suitably qualified suppliers to submit an offer for DES1252752 - Wallaman Falls Camping Area Upgrade.
QPWS&P are seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Principal Contractor to undertake construction works for the Wallaman Falls Camping Area.
**Important Dates**
Last date for Supplier Clarifications: 2:00pm Queensland Time on Friday, 30 January 2026
Tender Closing Date: 2:00pm Queensland Time on Friday, 6 February 2026
Minimum eligibility requirements are as follows:
• QBCC Licensing, registration and accreditation
• Copy of Certificate of Currency of required insurance policies
Tenderers are advised that the following may apply to the project:
• Queensland Government Building and Construction Training Policy
• Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 Project Trust Accounts
• Occupational Health and Safety Audits for Queensland Government building projects

This Request for Tender has an optional online industry briefing delivered via Microsoft Teams at 10:00am on Friday, 28 November 2025.

Wallaman Falls, Girringun National Park is the traditional lands of the Warrgamay Aboriginal people. The falls are the highest, permanent, single-drop waterfall in Australia. Wallaman Falls is part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, home to some of the oldest rainforests on earth and many endangered plants and animals.

There is an existing diamond link block retaining wall which is noted on demolition drawings, however there is approx. 600 units onsite (25 tonne), How are these units to be treated given direction to limit removal of materials from site ?

The nominated quarry "Mortons" is a blast quarry and has material suitable for road bases and angular rock suitable for car stop bollards etc. The quarry does not produce Basalt or Granite boulders suitable for constructing the stone retaining walls as detailed nor the river rock for the rock lined swales. Please confirm if the angular rock is acceptable for the GR-2 Barriers to match the existing. (shortfall of at least 120 that will require import) and the rock walls for retaining purposes, this will move away from the nominated intent however
