Queensland Health is inviting Private Health Facilities to join the Surgery Connect program through a standing offer arrangement. Surgery Connect facilitates outsourcing public patients needing elective surgery and endoscopy services to the private sector.

What we need:

• Elective surgery and procedures across multiple specialties (orthopaedic, ophthalmology, general surgery, gynaecology, ENT, urology, plastic surgery, gastroenterology, and more).

• Delivery of patient care through admission, discharge and up to 90 days follow-up.

Key details:

• Arrangement term: 3 years + 2 optional 2-year extensions.

• Start date: 1 July 2026.

• Payment: Bundled case payments for predictable pricing based on diagnosis-related groups (DRG).

Surgery Connect is a Queensland Health initiative to reduce elective surgery waiting times and improve access to care.

Suppliers will:

• Work with Queensland Health and Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) to deliver safe, high-quality surgery.

• Comply with clinical governance, quality and safety standards.

• Provide all aspects of patient care for the agreed specialties within clinical service capability.

• Maintain required licences, insurances and accreditations

Queensland Health will provide:

• Ongoing support for onboarding and compliance.

• Program oversite and monitoring of key performance indicators

• Access to the Surgery Connect Access Navigator (SCAN) application

We are looking for Suppliers who can:

• Deliver safe, high-quality surgical care for public patients.

• Help reduce elective surgery waitlists across Queensland.

• Offer flexibility to respond to changing demand.

• Support transparent reporting and data sharing for performance monitoring.

• Align with Queensland Government objectives for ethical, social, and local procurement.
