Our 7,500 strong workforce delivers services across our South East Queensland and Regional networks, including Travel and Tourism services and Regional Freight.
Our South East Queensland team provides 8,392 services each week, supporting our customers to reach their destination safely and on-time. In 2019-2020, 44 million passenger trips were taken on the South East Queensland network (a decrease of approximately 20 per cent compared to 2018-2019, associated with COVID-19).
The Regional networks commuter and rail tourism markets are serviced by the Travel and Tourism products. These comprise eight services connecting Regional communities across Queensland with other Regional centres and the South East Queensland corner. These services support the Queensland tourism industry through the provision of unique rail tourism experiences including special events and charters through the operation of a small fleet of heritage services.
Our Regional networks and Freight team provides rail access for freight operators and other Queensland Rail supply chain customers to enable the critical transport of resources and general freight across the state.

Queensland Rail is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to provide wheelset overhaul services to support the ongoing maintenance, safety, reliability and performance of its rollingstock fleet.

The scope of services includes the inspection, overhaul, repair, testing and certification of wheelsets in accordance with Queensland Rail's technical, operational and quality requirements. The successful supplier will be expected to deliver safe, compliant and cost-effective services while maintaining high standards of workmanship and supporting fleet availability objectives.

The contract is anticipated to commence following completion of the procurement process and contract award, with services to be provided over the term of the resulting agreement. Detailed requirements, volumes and service expectations are outlined within the Request documentation.

Services will primarily support Queensland Rail operations within Queensland. Wheelsets will be supplied to and from locations specified in the Request documentation, with work to be undertaken at the supplier's facilities unless otherwise agreed.

Suppliers should review the Request documentation in full to understand the detailed scope, technical requirements, evaluation criteria and commercial arrangements associated with this opportunity.
