Question:
This question refers to the General Racking Section (Rows B-R) and the Longspan Racking (Rows V-Z).

We would appreciate clarification on the following:

1. General Racking Section (Rows B-R): Can you please confirm whether the beam spacing shown of the drawing is acceptable or if any adjustments are required?

2. Longspan Racking Section (Rows V-Z): In the technical requirements and drawing, the longspan racking is noted as being 4 levels high however, the racking layout notes state that all other general warehouse rack locations will be 6 levels high which includes the pick face. Could you please confirm whether the longspan racking is required to be just 4 levels high at around 2000mm high in total or, the 4levels then plus the 5 levels high for pallets on top which in total around 9600mm high?

I am more than happy to upload our technical drawing to accompany this request any time if requested.

Answered on 27/Jan/2026 03:24 PM:

Hi,

1. The beam space for racking has been provided in Schedule 8 (Technical Requirements and Drawings). Your submission should provide for racking to meet this requirement as close as possible.

2. 4 levels of long span and then the 5 levels high for pallets on top which totals around 9600mm high.
29/Jan/2026 01:20 PM
Question:
Can you please confirm if the beam heights supplied are for the VCE (Vertical clear entry) eg the open space from top of beam to bottom of beam or is it from top of beam to top of beam?

Answered on 29/Jan/2026 01:35 PM:

Hi,

The vertical clear entry height is requested from top of beam to bottom of the next beam.

Kind regards

Question:
Please advise clarification on the below.

? Certification:

For Queensland projects, racking certification is typically provided via a Form 15 (Design Certificate) issued by the racking engineer, and a Form 12 (Inspection Certificate) issued by the QBCC-licensed racking contractor for the installation works.

These certifications are relied upon by the building surveyor when issuing the Form 16 – Final / Occupancy Certificate for the overall project.

On this basis, we consider the Form 15 and Form 12 to be sufficient for the racking scope and would appreciate clarification as to why a Form 16 is being requested from the racking contractor?

Hi,

Please see response below:

Q: On this basis, we consider the Form 15 and Form 12 to be sufficient for the racking scope and would appreciate clarification as to why a Form 16 is being requested from the racking contractor?

A: As the racking installation will be occurring post Practical Completion of the base building, the fit out will be considered post-occupancy building work. On this basis this may require a Form 16 to be completed for the racking component. A Form 16 was provided on our previous project in Richlands where racking was installed post Practical Completion.

Q: EU Std size 1200 x800mm – 700/ 1000kg – Wooden ?, what side will be used for it’s depth in the racking i.e. 1200mm or 800mm?
