Question
:
1. Corrosion findings
The RFQ notes that corrosion findings are approaching airworthiness limits. Are any photographs, corrosion reports, job cards, or other maintenance records available that illustrate the areas where corrosion has been identified?
2. Previous corrosion repairs
Can QGAir provide information regarding any previous corrosion-related repairs carried out on either aircraft?
3. Existing coating system
Can QGAir confirm the existing paint and primer system currently applied to each aircraft, if known?
4. Previous repaint history
When were the aircraft last repainted, and was a full strip-to-metal performed at that time?
5. Aircraft configuration
Are the aircraft fitted with any mission or surveillance equipment that may affect masking, stripping or repainting activities?
6. Paint scheme
Can QGAir provide any preliminary details of the proposed paint scheme and colour specifications for the repaint?
7. Component removal expectations
Are there any specific expectations regarding removal of components such as antennas, fairings or flight control surfaces prior to stripping and repainting?
8. Scope of external repaint
The RFQ refers to external repainting. Could you confirm whether this scope includes areas such as undercarriage bays and landing gear legs?
9. Extent of current corrosion findings
Where corrosion has already been identified, can QGAir indicate whether these findings are generally limited to surface corrosion within SRM blend limits, or whether any structural repair activity is anticipated?
10. Corrosion monitoring or interim repairs
Have any temporary corrosion treatments, protective coatings, or inspection monitoring requirements been applied to the affected areas pending completion of the repaint and corrosion rectification works?
11. Maintenance considerations during downtime
Are there any maintenance considerations we should be aware of while the aircraft are in our care (for example calendar-controlled items or inspections that may fall due during the proposed maintenance period)?
12. Scheduled maintenance coordination
Is the repaint and corrosion rectification work intended to coincide with any scheduled maintenance inspections or structural inspection requirements for either aircraft?

:
1. Corrosion findings
The RFQ notes that corrosion findings are approaching airworthiness limits. Are any photographs, corrosion reports, job cards, or other maintenance records available that illustrate the areas where corrosion has been identified?
VH-SGQ airframe is mainly corrosion free with some minor surface corrosion starting from rivets etc. Photos attached
VH-PSV multiple affected areas of corrosion including:
• Wing struts.
• Wing upper and lower surfaces.
• Around the windscreen, cabin windows, and fuselage.
• All flight controls, with particularly significant corrosion on the flaps and elevators.
• Tail cone.
• Horizontal and vertical stabilisers.
The true condition will not be known until the aircraft has been paint stripped. Photos attached
2. Previous corrosion repairs
Can QGAir provide information regarding any previous corrosion-related repairs carried out on either aircraft?
Only Surface corrosion removal and treatment
3. Existing coating system
Can QGAir confirm the existing paint and primer system currently applied to each aircraft, if known?
VH-PSV – Unknown Factory Textron Finish
VH-SQG – Imron Dupont system
4. Previous repaint history
When were the aircraft last repainted, and was a full strip-to-metal performed at that time?
VH-PSV Factory Textron 2007
VH-SGQ Full strip and repaint 2018
5. Aircraft configuration
Are the aircraft fitted with any mission or surveillance equipment that may affect masking, stripping or repainting activities?
Nil Special equipment fitted.
6. Paint scheme
Can QGAir provide any preliminary details of the proposed paint scheme and colour specifications for the repaint?
Final Liveries are not yet locked in. Please quote Both aircraft in Similar livery, all over white with 3 coloured stripes.
7. Component removal expectations
Are there any specific expectations regarding removal of components such as antennas, fairings or flight control surfaces prior to stripping and repainting?
Flight control surfaces to be removed stripped painted, balanced as required and refitted. Fairing removed as required. For PSV only, antennas should be removed and refitted.
8. Scope of external repaint
The RFQ refers to external repainting. Could you confirm whether this scope includes areas such as undercarriage bays and landing gear legs?
Landing gear should be included for PSV. For SQG Bays and legs to be assessed and quoted as required.
9. Extent of current corrosion findings
Where corrosion has already been identified, can QGAir indicate whether these findings are generally limited to surface corrosion within SRM blend limits, or whether any structural repair activity is anticipated?
PSV - Current finding limited to blends within SRM limits. Full extend wont be known until paint strip has occurred.
SQG – No current repairs
10. Corrosion monitoring or interim repairs
Have any temporary corrosion treatments, protective coatings, or inspection monitoring requirements been applied to the affected areas pending completion of the repaint and corrosion rectification works?
VH-PSV Surface corrosion removal Areas for corrosion control have been carried out along flap joints
11. Maintenance considerations during downtime
Are there any maintenance considerations we should be aware of while the aircraft are in our care (for example calendar-controlled items or inspections that may fall due during the proposed maintenance period)?
Both aircraft will have a maintenance check prior to paint input. No maintenance items should fall due during the period.
12. Scheduled maintenance coordination
Is the repaint and corrosion rectification work intended to coincide with any scheduled maintenance inspections or structural inspection requirements for either aircraft?
Both aircraft will have a maintenance check prior to paint input. No maintenance items should fall due during the period.

Question
:
1 - Interstate supplier eligibility
The RFQ notes that QGAir will ferry or position aircraft to and from the supplier’s facility. Could QGAir confirm whether suppliers located outside Queensland are considered equally for the works, provided they meet the technical and regulatory requirements outlined in the RFQ?
2 – Customer oversight during the works
For suppliers located outside Queensland, are there any specific expectations regarding customer inspections, hold-point attendance, or reporting arrangements during the works?

While QG Air prefers Queensland suppliers we will review all proposals.

QG Air would expect to perform onsite inspection of the aircraft after paint stripping and after completion of repairs and at completion/prior to aircraft acceptance.
