Mid–Coast Council is located in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales. The council was formed on 12 May 2016 through a merge of the Gloucester Shire, Great Lakes and City of Greater Taree councils.

In May 2025 MidCoast Council (MCC) encountered a record breaking flood event severely impacting critical infrastructure which is now eligible for replacement under the NSW Reconstruction Authority (NSW RA) guidelines. MCC has completed detailed investigations, designs, TfNSW specifications, and now seeks tender from suitably qualified and experienced civil contractors to replace Tiri Bridge Tiri NSW 2424.

Tiri bridge is located approx. 50min drive west of Taree spanning the Manning River and is accessed via Nowendoc Rd and Tiri Rd. A temporary limited structure has been reinstated to provide community connectivity.

Construction commencement is subject to receipt of suitable tender and NSW RA construction funding approvals.

MCC has completing Investigations, Detailed Designs, TfNSW specifications, GC21 Tender and Contract Documentation.

The new bridge is approximately 95m in length with 400m of approach roads and broadly consists of bored concrete piles, cast in situ headstock/abutments and precast planks, and will include the removal and remediation of the original bridge.
