Diamantina consists of two main towns Birdsville and Bedourie, with a third town of Betoota.

Bedourie is located 1,600km west of Brisbane, while Birdsville is 200km south of Bedourie and 1,200km from Adelaide.

Our towns have four aircraft services per week on the Brisbane- Mount Isa Circuit. REX (Regional Express) provides this service.

Despite it's size, Birdsville is a well-known destination for many Australian and International visitors. The town hosts one horse race meeting a year, when over 6,000 people swell the town population. It is the start of the famous Birdsville Track, which originally was used as a stock route for moving cattle from Queensland to Southern markets.

Bedourie is the Shire's administration centre. The last ten years has seen its population more than double to 140 people. The town boasts many new amenities including an aquatic centre, hot artesian spa and a community hall. Visitor numbers have increased to over 120,000 per year.

The Shire's wealth lies within its cattle industry, tourism and natural environment. Located within Queensland's Channel Country, bordering South Australia and the Northern Territory, this area is renown for producing prime quality beef. The natural irrigation from the Diamantina and Georgina River Systems is also assisting with developing an organic cattle industry.

We are fortunate that National Parks comprise 25% of our shire's area. The Simpson Desert, Diamantina National Park, (just been named in the top ten National Parks in Australia) and Astrebla National Park all offer unique scenery and wildlife for visitors to experience.

Good afternoon,

please provide a copy of the overall construction programme for the entire project from start to finish do as we can identify when various separable portions are forecast to be made available for the culvert installation contract

If this is not available please provide the dates when works can commence on culvert works for each separable portion

Dates in Separable Portions to be used as a guide subject to change based on flood season timings and construction issue drawings and contract availability.

Question:
Hello, could you please include MRS28 Contractor's Site Facilities line items in the price schedule in order to capture the Contractor's establishment costs and align cash flow timing with costs incurred. Additionally MRS04 Blinding Concrete to the culverts appears to have been omitted.

Question:
Hi, regarding timing of each separable portion and the staggered PC dates, is the intention is to have each of the separable portions completed consecutively? Is there any issue with completing the separable portions earlier or running concurrently? Are there any constraints related to starting or finishing each of the separable portions (other than PC date)?

The contractor is required to work in with the Council crew undertaking the earthworks constructions in a staged manner. The packages will be released in stages by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. The packages cannot be completed concurrently. The contractor should allow relocation / remobilisation in between each package of works.
