Business Info
The Central Highlands region is in Central Queensland, Australia. The region encompasses an area of around 60 000 square kilometres, making it just short of the size of Tasmania.

It is home to around 30 000 people who live in the thirteen unique communities of Arcadia Valley, Bauhinia, Blackwater, Bluff, Capella, Comet, Dingo, Duaringa, Emerald, Rolleston, Sapphire Gemfields, Springsure and Tieri.

Our region is rich in minerals and agriculture, thriving on irrigation sourced from water storage on the Nogoa and Comet rivers. We claim the largest sapphire-producing fields in the Southern Hemisphere.

Major freight routes through the region include the north-south link between Charters Towers and northern New South Wales—identified as the inland transport alternative between Cairns and Melbourne.

Thanks very much for the reply. We will have 1 attendee only at the site visit on Thursday, he will sign in as instructed below.

Also, regarding assets, we can only find the Emergency & Exit Lighting Asset List in the documents provided. Please confirm ASAP.

Thank you for your query.  An addendum to Schedule 2 – Scope of Works in particular Item 4.3 and Item 20 – Asset Register has now been uploaded to the RFQ documentation.   This addendum Asset Register lists the Fire Equipment Assets to be inspected and maintained.

Question:
Hello,

We would like to enquire in reference to the requirement to be onsite for call-outs within 4 hours whether consideration will be given to suppliers based in Rockhampton as the travel time in good conditions is 3 hours. Is there any flexibility in the 4 hour deadline?

Thank you.

Answered on 04/Jun/2026 12:19 PM:

Thank you for your enquiry. Indeed, it does take 3 hr travel time from Rockhampton. However, if the contractor cannot attend the site within a 4-hour timeframe, technical advice over the phone for a temporary solution or a subcontractor's attendance is mandatory.

Question:
Good Morning,

As we did not receive a response to our previous query in time to arrange flight bookings to attend the site meeting today, unfortunately we will be unable to attend. As it is mandatory to attend in order to be considered, we will have to withdraw our interest. If there are any other options to the mandatory attendance or an alternative day, please let us know.

Thank you.

Answered on 04/Jun/2026 12:08 PM:

Apologies, yesterday was a public holiday here in Emerald. We are happy to arrange an alternative time before 5 pm on Monday, June 8. Please advise if you cannot make this timeframe.
