The City of Mount Isa is a local government area in north west Queensland. The City covers the urban locality of Mount Isa, the administrative center, and surrounding area, sharing a boundary with the Northern Territory to the west.

Mount Isa is a reasonably affluent district. The largest industry in the City is the Mount Isa Mines, a source of lead, copper, silver and zinc. Cattle grazing and tourism are other industries of note.

Mount Isa City Council (MICC) invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced water infrastructure contractors to deliver three coordinated water main work packages under this Contract:

(1) Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) crossings at Lagoon Creek and Duchess Road;

(2) Completion of the remaining open-trench Duchess Road Water Main Extension works along Duchess Road, Price Road, Croft Road and McIntosh Road; and

(3) Replacement of approximately 1.5 km of the existing DN150 water main at Northridge Road with a new main constructed adjacent to the existing main.

The objective is to deliver the three packages as an integrated water infrastructure program while maintaining clear scope, pricing and delivery responsibility for each Separable Portion.

? Separable Portion 1 – HDD Works or Open Trench Method: Lagoon Creek Crossing and Duchess Road Crossing, comprising of supply and installation of creek and road crossings by open trench or trenchless of DN150 PE100 SDR17 HDPE potable water main.

? Separable Portion 2 – Duchess Road Open-Trench Water Main Extension: completion of the remaining unconstructed water main works shown on the preliminary design plans (Part 3 Duchess Road WM Extension - Concept Plans_MarkedUp) , excluding sections already installed by MICC. Includes approximately 1.3 km of additional DN100-equivalent PE100 HDPE water main from the McIntosh Road/Duchess Road intersection to 266–288 Duchess Road.

? Separable Portion 3 – Northridge Road Water Main Replacement: construction of approximately 1.5 km of new DN150-equivalent PE100 HDPE potable water main adjacent to the existing main, including pressure testing, disinfection and chlorination. Final connections to the live Council network and existing property services will be undertaken by MICC at a later stage unless otherwise instructed.

? Each Separable Portion shall be priced separately. MICC may award one, two or all three Separable Portions under the Contract.
