Details
Tenders are invited for the provision of invasive plant management services within Sunshine Coast Council-managed road reserve network.

The successful Contractor will be required to manage priority invasive plant species in an efficient, sustainable and safe manner, in accordance with ITT2547 Schedule 5 Attachment 1 Specification, with works delivered across two primary service streams:

1. Environmental/sensitive area weed management using bush regeneration techniques (e.g. cut-and-swab/cut stump, stem scrape-and-paint, targeted foliar and spot spraying); and

2. A region-wide, scheduled seasonal spray program targeting priority agricultural and pastoral weeds, delivered primarily using a high-volume mobile spray unit with supplementary knapsack and spot spraying.

Management is currently done in conjunction with GIS mapping.

Where directed by Council, the environmental/sensitive area portions will also include small-scale planting/regeneration works to establish endemic vegetation that suppresses reinvasion and reduce ongoing herbicide demand. This includes supply and installation of suitable local plants and maintenance of regeneration sites (including follow-up weed control and selective brush cutting/slashing).

This Contract is structured into three (3) Separable Portions as outlined below. Respondents may submit an offer for any or all Separable Portions

A. North - Road Reserve Invasive Plant Management (Environmental / Sensitive Areas)

B. South - Road Reserve Invasive Plant Management (Environmental / Sensitive Areas)

C. Agricultural - Pastoral Priority Invasive Species Program (Road Reserves) - Seasonal Spray Program (Region-wide).

This is a Schedule of Rates contract. The successful Contractor/s will provide at their own expense all transport, labour, plant, herbicides, equipment, signage, traffic control and any other associated costs necessary for the complete performance of this Contract.

All works are to be performed in a highly responsive, efficient, safe and environmentally sensitive manner.

This is a schedule of rates contract and will commence in July 2026 for a term of three (3) years, with an extension of 12 months at Council’s sole discretion.
