Can you please provide some further information to the questions below...

- depot location and approximate area that can be provided; for stockpiling trees, materials, spoil , machinery etc

- list of streets / quantities of trees per each location (i.e. are there 5 - 10 trees located on one street or are they one off locations)

- will council complete resident notifications / consultation prior to tree planting commencement

- contingency for rejected trees (either by resident or no space to plant once assessed onsite), would a park or open space be provided to offset any leftover trees.

-Temporary compound can be provided at Massey Park Golf Course, Bayview St Concord. Plenty of space for temporary fence compound and to handle deliveries and other logistics.

-Link to aerial mapping is provided on page 17 of RFT document under References. This Forestree link shows accurate information on where proposed trees have been plotted across the suburbs. Clicking on the plots highlights the proposed species. Access will be provided to Forestree to the successful supplier to manage the project. An Excel list of species, locations and GPS coordinates will be provided to successful supplier.

-Council will complete all internal and external stakeholder notifications and response to any queries or issues during the project.

-Council will provide alternative locations in nearby parks for spare trees if resident or site constraint issues are encountered.

Question:
Hi James and the tree planting team,

Just a quick question for clarification on the total number of trees for this project.

The tender request notes a total of 393 trees over the two areas.

On the Forestree layout showing the locations of the trees, there are 308 trees in the Concord West and Concord Area and 99 in the Five Dock area. Which is a total of 407 trees.

Just wanted to be sure we are covering everything that's required.

Confirming the trees proposed for Five Dock area is 85 and 309 for Concord and Concord West. Total of 393 and sizes as outlined in the pricing sheet.

Council have checked the Forestree links and they appear to be showing these numbers. We are unsure where the anomaly came from in Forestree. Thank you for checking and clarifying.

Hi ,

Are all 393 trees in either Grass Verge or Grass in Park ? Are we to assume that no trees are in Paved Footpath, In Road, or WSUD as no pit details are provided.

Confirming all 393 trees will be planted in grass verges or grass areas in parks. Only green waste removal required consisting of grass and clean soil. There is no planting in paved footpath areas, In-road or WSUD locations. No concrete, bitumen or other materials required to be removed for tree planting. Thank you for the enquiry.

1. GCC - 5.1: Licenses, Registrations and Warranties

For the Establishment/Maintenance/Watering requirements (not planting), does council require the Hort III/AQF III certified supervisor to be present onsite with the person undertaking the watering tasks?

2. What is the exact maintenance/watering regime and number of visits:

Specifications document - Establishment Maintenance states Total: 24 visits during first 12 months

Pricing Returnable Schedule - Item 9 states (0-6 months 20 visits) and (7-12 months 6 visits) = 26 visits during the 12 months

1. Council does not require the Hort III/AQF III certified supervisor to be present onsite with the person undertaking the watering tasks. However, as watering is often the most critical part of large scale planting projects, a reliable and capable person with previous large scale tree establishment experience is preferred.

2.Please refer to pricing returnable schedule. 26 visits required. The specifications will be updated accordingly.

Council confirms that all trees have been procured and will be supplied by Alpine Nurseries. Deliveries to be organised by successful contractor to agreed compound in Concord area.

Hello, does City of Canada Bay have a site for any excess spoil or is the contractor expected to manage the disposal of this themselves?

Council expect there to be green waste only comprised of turf and soil in the anticipated volumes according to the planting details required (turf) and container sizes (soil). Council do not have a site to accommodate the total volume of waste or any excess waste. The temporary compound area in Concord can allow for up to 10-15 cubic metres of waste at any one time, and this will need to be managed both on and off site by the successful contractor. Council has historically had the opportunity to reuse green waste and soil on other projects requiring clean fill, therefore minimising movements and waste costs. Council will ascertain if this is an option closer to the project start date.
