Background Information

Central Highland Regional Council is seeking to engage an appropriately experienced Contractor (incorporating a team of all necessary sub-consultants and sub-contractors) to complete the design and carry out the supply and installation of theatre performance systems, including improvement works to ancillary theatre performance spaces, at 4 x town halls in the Central Highlands.

Specific Requirements of the Contract

Please refer to Annexure Part F of the Contract – Principal’s Project Requirements, including Section 3 (General Requirements), Section 5 (Design), Section 5 (Standard Specification), and Section 6 (Project Specific Specification).

Implementation Timetable

The work under the Contract has been divided into the following Separable Portions:

• Separable Portion No. 1 – Design Finalisation

• Separable Portion No. 2 – Early Works

• Separable Portion No. 3 – Capella Cultural Centre

• Separable Portion No. 4 – Emerald Town Hall.

• Separable Portion No. 5 – Blackwater Civic Centre

• Separable Portion No. 6 – Bauhinia Memorial Hall (Springsure)

As outlined in Clause 3.32 of Annexure Part F of the Contract – Principal’s Project Requirements, the Separable Portions listed above may be awarded to one or more Contractors. The anticipated date for commencement of works is 10 business days after date of acceptance of tender, subject to fulfillment of Item 26A of Annexure Part A of the Contract.

For the latest date for practical completion for each Separable Portions refer to Annexure part A of the Contract.

Hi Graeme, go to the top of page 33 of the PPR Appendix A Preliminary Design and click on the hyper link and then the documents are inside subfolder called Theatre-dwgs. All documents are included in the RFT.

Within Addenda 2, there are no contact details noted for any of the recommended suppliers:

It would be helpful to be issued with a list of contractors who have indicated they are bidding to allow the specialist sub-contractor to reach out to them.

Finally, we would recommend an extension of time be granted as to date we cannot access any of the specialist sub-contractor information, as such cannot begin the tender process.

Tenderers are advised that the supply and installation of the equipment listed under “Production Communication Talkback – Cabled” and “Production Communication Talkback – Cabled and Wireless” of the Tender Return Schedule for Springsure are to be priced. Please refer to items 14.32 and 14.33 of ‘SP6 – Bauhinia MH (Springsure)’ tab of RFT260044 Contract Annexure Part G - Price Schedule.

Please note that if the Tenderer proposes any departures from the Contract or value engineering opportunities than these are to be noted in the ‘Alternative Tendering’ tab of RFT260044 Contract Annexure Part G - Price Schedule and a summary is to be provided in accordance with clause 2.13 of the RFT260044 Tender Response.

The Theatre AV spec 001.pdf in section 32.1 lists "The 2 existing domestic screens on either side of proscenium at Blackwater are to be replaced with 110” modular

LED panels."

They are on the theatrical TRS for Blackwater.

Drawing 2508-28-A04-02 does not show any existing screens.

Drawing 2508-29-A02-07 (Emerald) shows 2x existing screens.

Are the LED screens for Emerald?

If so should they be priced on the Emerald TRS?

Answer: 2 No. LED panel screens are to be priced for supply and installation at Blackwater Civic Centre in accordance with clause 32.1 of Specification 001 Technical Infrastructure and Equipment (Theatre Performance Systems) and item 15.26 of ‘SP5 – Blackwater CC’ tab of RFT260044 Contract Annexure Part G - Price Schedule Rev 1. The final location of the LED panel screens is to be confirmed as part of the completion of the theatre performance systems design by the Contractor in accordance with clause 4.4 of Annexure Part F Principal’s Project Requirements of the Contract.
