Details
The work to be executed under this Contract is to engage a suitably qualified and experienced principal contractor to undertake replacement of deteriorated sewer maintenance holes (DN750, DN1050) and rehabilitation works of maintenance holes (DN1050) to eliminate infiltration in West Creek area in Toowoomba region. The objective is to restore structural integrity, ensure watertightness, and extend the service life of the sewer infrastructure in compliance with relevant standards and environmental regulations.
Flows in the sewer maintenance holes will vary with time. Bypass flow control will be necessary, and the successful contractor shall submit a detailed Flow Control Plan outlining their proposed methodology for managing flows. Indicative maintenance hole depths, pipe materials and location information have been provided (refer to work schedule and location plans for details).
The Works Under Contract comprise the following:
• Establishment and disestablishment of resources and materials to Toowoomba and Regional areas.
• Lawful disposal of materials from the site.
• Flow control in accordance with approved flow control plan.
• Supply and installation of necessary material which complies with the relevant Australian standards.
• Undertake onsite and/or offsite testing as specified in the Technical Specification (where ordered).
• Prepare traffic management plans and obtain necessary permits (if required).
• Excavate and remove existing maintenance hole structures.
• Install new precast concrete maintenance holes with watertight joints.
• Install frames, covers, rainwater stoppers and safety platforms as per specifications.
• Backfill and compact using approved materials.
• Clean up, reinstate and make good all affected areas.
• Clean and prepare maintenance hole interiors for sealing.
• Seal cracks and defective joints using approved materials.
• Apply internal lining for structural reinforced concrete.
• Perform vacuum testing to confirm watertightness.
• Ancillary tasks as detailed in the Technical Specifications.
The sewer maintenance hole renewal works to be carried out are at West Creek, Toowoomba Regional Council area as stipulated in the provided Work Schedule and Location Maps provided as part of the contract documents.

Good afternoon and thank you for your enquiry.
Any testing required will be undertaken only to the extent necessary to deliver the scope of works described in the tender documentation. Council does not require non-destructive testing of ferrous pipelines or other metallic infrastructure as a separate or standalone activity under this tender.
