Local government has been in operation in the Cessnock area since 1906 when the Shire of Cessnock held its first meeting.

During the following years there were several amalgamations and splits as new Shires were formed and reshaped until Cessnock was declared a City in 1958.

Records created or received by a service provider relating to the performance of a contract are considered State Records under the State Records Act 1998 (NSW). Service providers must make and keep records of all matters relating to the performance of the contract including but not limited to records of inspections, testing and compliance, records of accounts, timesheets and reports produced. Council retains an immediate right of access to all records to assess compliance with the requirements of the contract and meet other legal obligations. PRIVACY & PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTION NOTICE; Suppliers are advised that all (if any) personal information, required to be provided with their submission, is intended only for use by Council staff. The purpose being for the assessment (in accordance with the Local Government Regulations). The information will be stored at Council’s Administration Centre in accordance with the requirements of the State Records Act 1998 and will comply with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1988 (NSW) (the PPIP Act) and Council's Privacy Management Plan.

Council carries out varied concrete construction works as part of the councils operational program across the local government area.

Works may include;

• Footpath new and replacement programs

• Kerb and gutters

• Insitu concrete structures ie drainage inlets, roundabouts and other related structures

Engagement may occur in the following ways;

1. Full scope (Supply, deliver and install), (Supplier supply’s complete works materials and labour)

2. Formwork and labour. Council does the excavation and will supply steel and concrete and joints.

3. Council will excavate only. Everything else supplied by contractor.(Formwork, steel and concrete from the contractor)


This shall be a panel contract. The Contract will run for Three years in total (two years, with one-year extension based on supplier performance). The estimated start contract date will be approximately December 2026.

This tender works includes but is not limited to road and intersection upgrades, carriageways, roundabouts and concrete speed-humps, crossovers, laybacks and lintels, carparks, (pedestrian, vehicle and cycle-way), causeway upgrades including concrete works for pavement slab replacement, pathways, driveways, roadways, footpaths, kerb and gutter, pedestrian ramps and traffic islands.
