Our apologies for this oversight.

Question
:
The spring ride as standard does not offer core mount fixing. The 2 options for footing type.are noted below.
1. Expansion Bolt to slab (minimum slab 100mm thick)
2. In-ground. This requires a 500x500x500mm hole
Please confirm the version preferred?
Answered on 09/Jan/2026 01:42 PM
:
Hi Art,
In item 7.i. of the scope of works (Appendix 1), it's noted the contractor must allow for all fixings and footings required to install play equipment, and to core-drill 400-500mm NOM into the existing concrete slab. In this case, this means the contractor must allow for option 2.

Question
:
There is a shade pole located less than 2m from the slide exit, which does not comply to current safety standards. Please indicate how you intend to address that issue?
Answered on 14/Jan/2026 12:53 PM
:
Hi Art,
P2 is a 'Type 1 slide' and its design, whether custom or otherwise, must comply with AS 4685.1:2001.
In the proposed design:
- the sliding section length must be less than or equal to 1500mm
- the runout section is 300-500mm
- the flat mound top forms the starting section
- the slide angle is 40 degrees
Based on this a fall zone of 1500mm is required past the run-out section.
Applying the radii used in the Australian Standard, the slide may need a small adjustment to comply. The contractor must engage an independent playground assessor who can provide further advice during fabrication and construction.

Question
:
Could you please provide clarification on the playground mound construction details shown on the drawings. Specifically, the starter bars appear to be partially embedded into the existing concrete with the remaining portion extending through compacted DGB20. Could you please confirm that the starter bars are not intended to rely on the DGB20 for anchorage or stability? Additionally, could you please confirm whether the softfall is intended to be installed directly over DGB20 for the remainder of the playspace. Specifically, the detail shows the existing concrete to stay in and the DGB20 to be laid directly on top. Is this correct?
Answered on 23/Jan/2026 12:00 PM
:
Hi Sebastian,
Please note the below clarification regarding this detail.
The starter bars are to be N12 reinforcement bars, drilled and epoxied into the existing concrete which will assist in anchoring the DGB in place. Bars are to be set into existing concrete 200mm and protrude into the DGB a minimum of 400mm, with spacings at maximum 500mm intervals. Allow for 35-40 bars.
Tenderers may include a separate alternative option and price with their response, but the total lump sum must price the contract scope.
The existing concrete slab remains in place with the required depth of crusher dust, rubber attenuation and rubber wear layer placed on top suitable for the play equipment types and in compliance with Australian Standards. The existing depth of rubber and crusher dust over the concrete slab is approximately 120mm, with approximately 70mm rubber wear and attenuation layer, and the remainder crusher dust.

Question
:
Dear Council,
Could you please clarify the following queries?
1. BOQ Item 9.c – Signage (supplied by Principal):
Could you please provide installation details for the signage? Specifically, whether the signage is to be installed on a concrete slab, inground or fixed to the fence, as we were unable to locate this information in the documentation.
2. BOQ Item 10.a – Planting Details:
The BOQ specifies 75L trees – 4 and understory, however the landscape plan indicates a 200 mm pot size. Could you please confirm which specification is correct?
3. BOQ Item 5.e - Planter boxes
We understand that this item is the removal of plants from the existing planter boxes and the proposed scope is the installation of four new plants within the same planter boxes as specified. Could you please confirm if this understanding is correct.
4. Drawing L400 – Existing Concrete Slab Thickness:
The drawing indicates an existing concrete slab thickness of 500 mm. Could you please confirm whether this slab thickness is consistent across the entire site.
Answered on 02/Feb/2026 03:03 PM
:
Hi Paul, please refer to the responses below to each question.
1. The signage is small and can simply be affixed to the new fence.
2. 75L is the correct pot size for the trees. The understorey should match the existing – allow for 10x plants at 140mm pot size to each planter box.
3. The purpose of the works is to replace all failed planting to match the existing. Allow for understorey plants as noted in response to the previous question, in addition to providing a tree to each planter box as specified in the landscape drawings.
4. Please assume a slab thickness of 500mm throughout the site.
Note a record of these questions and responses will be incorporated into a new addendum as done previously.

Question

Can we ask for extension of time for submission.
Thanks
Answered on 02/Feb/2026 03:04 PM

No, unfortunately due to Council reporting and grant milestone requirements the closing date cannot be further extended.

Question
:
Dear Council,
As per Addendum 1, if the lead time for the play equipment is considered to be 12 weeks, delivery to site would occur around mid-June 2026, which would push the completion date to early July 2026.
However, based on confirmations from all play equipment suppliers, the current lead time is between 14 and 18 weeks. In accordance with Addendum 1, the anticipated contract award is mid-March 2026. On this basis, delivery of the play equipment to site would occur toward the end of July 2026. This would subsequently extend the overall construction program, with practical completion occurring around mid-August 2026.
Accordingly, achieving practical completion by May 2026 would not be feasible under the current lead times.
Could you please advise on this?
Thankyou
Answered on 02/Feb/2026 03:05 PM
:
Hi Paul,
As noted at the pre-tender meeting and in the minutes, please ensure the submitted program includes fair allowances to accommodate all product lead times. The contract completion date may be extended if reasonable.
Note a record of this question and response will be incorporated into a new addendum as done previously.
